Holiday Potluck

December 12 2009
Program: Saturday morning

Location: To be posted soon.

General Meeting and Program Time: December 12.

Program

Once again we look forward to the December SCHG meeting and pot luck feast! Please bring food to share, including a labeled serving utensil, if needed. We will have two special activities in addition to the usual "business" meeting and holiday feasting:

Something Wonderful:The linen sheet woven by your great grandmother, or the jaspe band that reads "Chichicastenango", or the exquisite little sweetgrass basket that you found at a rummage sale ... What textile treasures and woven wonders are in your house? For the December get-together please bring along a special item for Show and Tell: something from another time or place or from other hands, something that you think other weavers would love to see.

Something More Wonderful Once in Someone Else's Hands:A spool of 110/2 ramie you never want to see again, or that 1972 bog jacket that maybe somebody can salvage into something, the dye experiment fiasco you never got around to overdyeing, the cardweaving tablets that are collecting dust... What weaving items would you like to pass along to another, perhaps more appreciative weaver? We'll have an exchange of items that we no longer want. No money and no gift wrapping involved here. Every person who brings one or more items for the give-away puts his or her name in a hat. We'll take turns drawing names until all the stuff is redistributed to new homes. And by the way, we promise not to get the above items mixed up!

General program questions can be directed to the Program Committee. We hope to see you at the December meeting!
