Take your choice of workshops or try your hand at all four of them... then
partake of our annual holiday potluck luncheon. In addition to the four
workshops, there will be a table displaying numerous samples of ideas for
stocking stuffers or simple gifts for the upcoming holidays. If you have
any small easily made gifts, bring them in and add them to ours. The more
the merrier. The workshops are as follows:
- Stella Goren: Two versions of gift boxes.
All materials will be supplied,
but you might want to bring your own scissors.
- Susie Henzie and Marge D'Elia: Liberian Rice bags.
Learn to make a tote bag Liberian style Bring your own paper towel roll as the
basis; two colors of yarn (heavier yarns preferred
at first, e.g. rug yarns, Aunt Lydias, 4 ply, etc.), a dozen or so T-pins
or pins with heads to help separate thread groups. Istruction sheet provided at meeting.
- Ann Tompkins: Kumihimo on a card.

belts can be as wide as 5-6 inches or wider.
No loom is necessary, only a smooth stick (dowel) and some place to secure it to.
Designs can be simple stripes, chevrons, diamonds, or the more complex lightning pattern.
