Fire1/Sandra Rude

Location: Los Angeles Valley College, 5800 Fulton Ave, Valley Glen,
Rm 143, AHS (Applied Health & Science Bldg).  (Directions)

General Meeting and Program Time: Saturday 9:00 a.m.

Sandra is a professional weaver, specializing in complex weaves using fine threads. Most of her studio work consists of scarves, shawls and wallhangings woven on a 48-inch 24-shaft dobby loom or on a jacquard loom. She exhibits and sells her work through high-end retail craft shows such as the Smithsonian Craft Show and the American Craft Council San Francisco Show.

Sandra will describe how she designs her cloth, along with the what-if experimentation she does with weaving software to create a variety of startlingly different designs on the same threading. One warp, one threading, many one-of-a-kind scarves. (No workshop)

General program questions can be directed to the Program Committee. We hope to see you at the June meeting!
