A presentation of handwoven bags dating back to the 1700's. Marion Logan will present her collection of over 75 bags that she has researched and woven with the threads that were originally used. Marion has many stories to go along with her "bags" of what patterns she followed and where they originated. It is a very entertaining program and you just don't want to miss it. Marion will also show you how to line a bag the easy way. There will be handouts for you to enjoy.
I am a native Southern Californian. I have been weaving since I was 12 years old. I learned to spin in the fourth grade at the age of 9. I teach weaving for beginners and also spinning. I was the Ghost Town Weaver/Spinner at Knott's Berry Farm for over 15 years and after retiring I became the San Juan Capistrano Mission Weaver. I am also a Docent for the Mission and give guided tours (especially for 4th graders) I have a wonderful husband that tolerates having a house full of looms and spinning wheels.
For the Conference 2003 I will be teaching a three day workshop titled "Come Spin With Me" It is for beginners and intermediate spinning.
