If you have wanted to discover new applications for your handwoven or surface designed fabrics, then enter the exciting world of the book arts with Curt Dornberg.
About Curt Dornburg: Curt has pursued books, “inside and out”, first as a Professor of English, then as a book worker and box maker. From early to late, he has been a weaver incorporating his weavings into books and boxes of his own design. For more about Curt and his work, see http://www.paperportals.com/dornberg/.
In the workshop, you will discover the sensuous delights of working with paper, the satsifaction of sewing, binding and boxing your own journals, albums, sketchbooks, etc. and the pleasure of seeing your own fabrics covering them. Curt Dornberg will have you making books and boxes in no time. You should complete four books and boxes, each covered with your own handwoven or surface designed fabrics. Materials fee: $10. Supply list provided upon registration. Workshop limited in size.
The Saturday morning program lecture (Part 1) is free for all members and visitors.
General program questions can be directed to the Program Committee. We hope to see you at the April meeting!
